Our Little Secret
48 Hour Film Festival 2008

Role: Editor

For those of you who aren't familiar with the 48 Hour Film Festival, its a yearly festival that happens in 50 cities world wide. As the name implies, teams are given exactly 48 hours to write, rehearse, shoot, edit and score a short film. But there's a catch. Each team starts by drawing a genre at random. This is specific to your individual team. Once that is completed, all teams are given the same prop, character and line that must all be incorporated into the story. These factors ensure that no one tries to produce something before hand. The elements this year were a notebook, the line "It's never going to be the same", and the character Melvin Lyons, a woodworker. Lastly, it just so happens that we drew Political Drama as our genre. We were all worried, but the finished product came out way better than we could have hoped based upon the time frame.

This year's team was amazing. Many of my top friends were all involved. Participants included, but were not limited to, employees of Lone Wolf Documentary Group, members of Agnes Gray and the Good Night Process, some amazing actors, one of which appeared in the film "Empire Falls", multiple adjunct faculty professors for SMCC and some great camera people.
